Cycling

If you’re a serious cyclist, Sóller is the classic base for climbers. There are only three roads out of the Sóller valley on a bicycle and all of them are up a mountain pass.

Sóller has the best access to the high mountains:

  • The Puig Major starts from Sóller and is the highest climb on the island at 854m.
  • The famous Coll de Sóller connects the mountain town of Sóller to the city of Palma. In 1997, the Sóller Tunnel was opened and almost all motorised traffic takes this route through the mountain. This means the old road is almost exclusively used by cyclists.
  • There’s also the Coll de Bleda which leads from Sóller to Deià and on to the beautiful West Coast road.
